Os prémios deste ano da MTV vão ter um novo formato, reconhecendo não só o cinema mas também o melhor na área da televisão. Os MTV Movie & TV Awards contam com categorias específicas para filmes e séries, juntamente com categorias que incluem nomeados de ambos os sectores.

Existem também categorias novas, incluindo o prémio Tearjerker, com os momentos que nos fizeram chorar e o prémio Melhor História Americana. Outra novidade é que as antigas categorias Melhor Ator e Melhor Atriz são agora uma categoria sem género e há ainda duas categorias que só serão reveladas mais próximo da cerimónia.

Adam Devine vai apresentar o primeiro MTV Movie & TV Awards, no dia 7 de maio, em Los Angeles, e a MTV Portugal vai transmitir a cerimónia em direto.
